Good Eating Beats Bad Drinking

good eatingIf you’re looking for a strong ally in your fight against drinking, you might want to take a closer look at your daily eating habits. Does food become secondary to you, especially as the time to start drinking approaches?

If you are one of those people who tends to eat very little (or nothing at all) before starting to drink, you should understand that you’re missing out on an extremely effective way to cut back drinking.

Simply put, filling your stomach up with food JUST BEFORE drinking can be one of the more effective ways to combat alcoholism, and yet for many people it’s an afterthought. I’ve written about this before, referring to it as the Eating Trick, and it’s one of the better ways to reduce or eliminate the desire to drink alcohol.

The key here is to make sure you consume a full meal BEFORE your normal drinking begins. Most people find that their desire to drink alcohol is substantially lessened when they first fill their stomach with food.

Needless to say, it is ideal to eat 3 square meals a day for a variety of reasons. But if for any reason you cannot do that then you need to focus only on the meal IMMEDIATELY BEFORE your normal drinking time.

Key Points to Remember

  • Food is your friend, alcohol is not
  • Eating a full meal immediately before drinking greatly reduces alcohol abuse
  • If you eat just one or two meals a day, make sure one is just before drinking
  • I’m NOT talking about a light snack. This is a FULL MEAL

Remember, food is your friend … alcohol is not. And food is never a
better friend to you than immediately before drinking. Try eating a complete meal before drinking, and you’ll be surprised to discover that your desire to abuse alcohol has mysteriously vanished. Good eating really DOES beat bad drinking! ♦
